The National Transport Authority (NTA) has published details of changes to some public transport fares - including those of Bus Éireann – which will take effect from 1st December 2014. These changes include increases to cash fares, some Leap Card fares and weekly and monthly prepaid tickets on Bus Éireann Regional City, Commuter and Stage Carriage services. For more details please see the National Transport Authority's website - www.nationaltransport.ie Fares increases of an average 4% will also apply on Bus Éireann Expressway services from Monday 1st December 2014.

Bus Éireann announce revamped Limerick to Dublin City/Dublin Airport service
Bus Éireann passengers travelling to the capital or Dublin Airport on our route 12 service from Limerick, can look forward shorter journey times, and avail of special promotional fares from as low as €9 one way, from 14 September 2014. As part of our new X12 route, journey times to Dublin will be cut by 25 minutes on 18 daily services to the city centre and Dublin Airport. A new daily non-stop service from Limerick to Dublin will also be introduced, with a transit time of just two hours 20 minutes. Bus Éireann will be the only company to offer this daily non-stop direct service between the two cities.

Bus Éireann publish report into allegations of misconduct
Bus Éireann has today published a report into allegations of misconduct by several employees, which concluded that there was no evidence to support these allegations. The report was requested jointly by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and the Department of Education and Skills, due to recent media articles that carried claims of alleged wrongdoing, in the awarding of school transport contracts.

Bus Éireann Statement 20/04/2014
The reports in the Mail on Sunday regarding allegations of corruption were previously raised by Student Transport Scheme (STS) Director Tim Doyle as far back as December 2012. The STS, which represents a group of American bus operators and others, took a High Court challenge to Bus Éireann’s right to run schools transport on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills. This case was lost on all counts in 2012.

Bus Éireann is promoting its Expressway coach services with a special on-line offer of €6 for a one-way ticket on selected routes. Customers may travel on 15 Expressway routes such as Dublin - Galway for just €6 one way between 26 January and 6 March 2014 (inclusive).
